Prof. Surjyabrat Buragohain

Prof. Surjyabrat Buragohain is an academician-cum-entrepreneur. Over the last 12 years he has founded two start-ups and has been mentoring entrepreneurs in the areas of idea generation, innovation, opportunity evaluation, business model and business planning. 

Prior to the entrepreneurial journey, he had worked in the oil and gas industry and management consulting in India, Singapore and Norway. He has 20 years of extensive experience in entrepreneurship, business development, human resource management, and financial management.

He is associated with IBS Business School, Bangalore as an Associate Dean (Placements) and teaches Entrepreneurship, Strategic Management, Organizational Behaviour, and Leadership Skills and Change Management. As a Deputy Placement Coordinator, Prof. Surjyabrat is involved in training and mentoring of students to prepare them as industry-ready for their transition from campus to corporate.

He did his Bachelor’s and Masters in English Literature from University of Delhi and his MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Queensland University of Technology, Australia. 

He lives by the mantra “Initiate, Innovate, and Change”.
